CITP Application Notice of Temporary Closing Period 

(December 1, 2022-January 6, 2023)  
As of January 1, 2023, all applicants for the Certified International Trade Professional (CITP|FIBP) designation must meet new ISO 17024-compliant certification program requirements. As such, all applications for the CITP designation must be received by FITT on or before November 30, 2022. The application process will reopen under the new certification program requirements as of January 6, 2023.  

For applications submitted on or prior to November 30, 2022, those that are not approved will need to reapply for the designation in 2023 under thew new application requirements.

Ready to apply? Here’s what you'll need:
Gather the following information to be ready to submit your CITP application:

  • Requirements:
    • Detailed resume providing dates of employment (month and year), company name, job title and listing of your key responsibilities related to international trade activities
  • Sponsors:
    • You’ll need to provide contact details for two international business colleagues who can validate your work experience
  • Annual Dues:
    • To submit your application, you will need to provide a payment of $270 CAD, plus applicable taxes, for your annual dues. If your application is denied, you will be fully refunded.

* Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) is trademarked for use within Canada. FITT International Business Professional (FIBP) is trademarked for use internationally. Both reflect the same FITT certified designation.
