The FITTskills online courses are completely self-led; you are not taught by an instructor. You will use your course eBook and online learning resources to complete the course at your own pace and in the way that works best with your schedule.
Our FITTskills series of comprehensive international business courses teaches you the competencies you need for a competitive career in global trade. The competencies developed by completing the entire FITTskills program meet the educational requirement for the elite Certified International Trade Professional (CITP®|FIBP®) designation. The workshops cover the same material as the courses, but are divided into smaller sections for those interested in completing specific sections on their own or to focus on learning the material one topic at a time.

Yes, depending on the courses you've taken and the type and amount of experience you've gained. You can earn FITTskills credits through our Accredited Partner programs or through our Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) process. Individuals with more than 10 years of professional experience in international trade may also be eligible to apply directly for the Certified International Trade Professional (CITP®|FIBP®) designation through our Executive Path. The FITTskills program meets the educational requirement for the elite CITP®|FIBP® designation.
Will I be a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP®|FIBP®) after I finish the six FITTskills courses?
No, but you'll have completed the educational requirement! You'll need to earn a minimum of one year of international trade work experience before applying for the designation. This elite designation proves an individual's level of competency and experience in international trade. Established in 1998, the CITP®|FIBP® designation continues to gain recognition as the standard for international business practitioners around the world! The CITP® is referred to as the FIBP® (FITT International Business Professional) in the USA and Europe. Consult the CITP Certification Process page to learn more about how you can become a CITP®|FIBP®.
To qualify for the CITP®|FIBP® designation, you must meet the educational requirements and have a minimum one-year of professional international business experience. You’ll also need to agree to the CITP®|FIBP® Standards of Ethical Conduct, commit to ongoing professional development and pay the annual Certified Membership dues.
There are multiple paths for meeting the requirements for the CITP®|FIBP® designation. Visit the CITP Certification Process page and choose the path that’s right for you based on your level of education and experience in global business.

How much do FITTskills international business courses cost at FITT’s Educational Partner Institutions?

Should I complete the FITTskills program online or in-class through one of FITT’s Educational Partners?
Whatever works for you! If you prefer to receive your training in-person with other students, and if your schedule permits you to attend in-class courses, then the programs offered by our FITTskills Delivery and FITT-accredited Partners are a great option.
However, if you’re a busy working professional and you need a more flexible global business training solution that enables you to learn from anywhere and at your own pace, then our popular online courses might be just what you’re looking for.
I’m taking a course through one of FITT’s educational partners. Who should I contact if I have questions?
Your first point of contact is your school’s FITT Coordinator. Visit our Instructor-Led Courses page to see who the FITT Coordinator is at your institution. If they are unable to help you, you can also contact email@example.com.
You can check the date of your assessment deadline by logging into your FITT Student account. Visit http://fittfortrade.com/user and enter your FITT ID and password to log in. Select FITT Students from your account menu and then My Student Records from the dropdown menu. Here, you’ll be able to review your current and past courses, assessment deadline(s) and your final grades!
The passing grade for a FITTskills course is 65%.
If you write your exam online, your mark will be posted immediately. If you complete the project, your mark will be posted within 3 to 4 weeks.
If you take a FITTskills course online through FITT or through one of our Delivery Partner institutions, your mark will be posted on your Student Account in the secure student-section of the FITT website. Simply log in using your FITT ID and password. If you take a FITT-accredited course at one of our Accredited Partner institutions, you’ll need to consult your instructor for information on how to find your final grade.
You are eligible to re-write a failed FITTskills assessment within 90 days of the original exam date. There is no limit to the number of times an assessment can be re-written. However, each re-write must take place within 90 days of the previous re-written assessment, and there is a fee of $100 plus applicable taxes per re-write. You can request to re-take an assessment by filling out an Assessment Registration Form.
Yes. You can receive up to three 30 day deferrals for a single course or workshop. Your first deferral for a specific course or workshop will be complimentary, and a second or third deferral for that same course will be $50 each.
