How do I access and use my eBook once I’ve ordered it?

Once you’ve ordered an eBook, you will receive an eBook redemption code via email, along with instructions on how to access it. You can also find more information in our FITTskills eBook Download Instructions online resource.

Are certificates or diplomas awarded for the FITTskills international business courses?

Yes! We recognize your development in our FITTskills program with the following global trade credentials:

  • FITT Certificate in International Trade
  • FITT Diploma in International Trade

Can I use other international business courses or experience to earn FITTskills course credits?

Yes, depending on the courses you've taken and the type and amount of experience you've gained. You can earn FITTskills credits through our Accredited Partner programs or through our Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) process. Earning the FITT Diploma through completion of the FITTskills Program requirements meets one of the eligibility requirements for the elite CITP®|FIBP® designation for those applying through Pathway 1 (FITT Diploma Pathway).

FITTskills Challenge Exams are another option. If you have 3+ years of work experience in international trade and are well-versed in the topics covered in the course, you can earn this course credit by passing a Challenge Exam. Learn more about the FITTskills Challenge Exams guidelines here.

Individuals with more than 10 years of full-time professional experience related to the 15 CITP competency categories in executive level roles may also be eligible to apply directly for the Certified International Trade Professional (CITP®|FIBP®) designation through our Executive Path.

I finished my program at a FITT-accredited institution. What do I have to do next to get my FITT Diploma?

If you completed a FITT-accredited program at a Platinum Accredited Partner institution:

To achieve the FITT Diploma: Your local FITT Coordinator must provide to FITT confirmation of your registration in the FITT-accredited program

  • You must successfully complete the institution’s FITT-accredited program
  • Your local FITT Coordinator must submit a graduation list to FITT confirming successful completion of the program
  • You must successfully complete the 2 FITTskills assessments selected by the institution

If you completed a FITT-accredited program at a Standard Accredited Partner institution:

To achieve the FITT Diploma, you must complete these steps in the following order:

  1. Successfully complete the partner institution’s FITT-accredited program
  2. Apply online to complete the steps to achieve the Diploma:
    1. *Standard Accredited Partner (SAP) application form: fee of $575 + applicable taxes, allows you to obtain the 6 FITTskills eBooks, transfer your credits to FITT, and write 2 FITTskills assessments of your choice.
    2. Contact info@fitt.ca for access to the proper SAP form. Please provide the following information in your email: Institution name, program title, and program start date.
  3. Mail your official transcript to FITT
  4. Successfully complete the 2 FITTskills assessments

*Participants who wish to receive the eBooks prior to graduation can complete the SAP application form at any time, and are strongly encouraged to do so at the beginning of their accredited program. We’ll simply record the full payment in your account, and upon graduation, you can proceed with transferring your credits and writing the 2 FITTskills assessments.

If you completed the Business Administration – International Business undergraduate program at Algonquin College, please email info@fitt.ca to determine your next steps to achieve the FITT Diploma.

Will I be a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP®|FIBP®) after I finish the six FITTskills courses?

No, but you'll have earned the FITT Diploma which meets one of the eligibility requirements for the CITP|FIBP* designation for those applying through Pathway 1 (FITT Diploma Pathway)! You'll need to earn a minimum of one year of full-time experience in a role that is primarily focused on international trade and is related to one or more of the 15 CITP competency categories before applying for the designation. This elite designation proves an individual's level of competency and experience in international trade. Established in 1998, the CITP®|FIBP® designation continues to gain recognition as the standard for international business practitioners around the world! The CITP® is referred to as the FIBP® (FITT International Business Professional) in the USA and Europe. Consult the CITP Certification Process page to learn more about how you can become a CITP®|FIBP®.

FITT Seeking ISO Accreditation for CITP Designation

We are excited to announce that FITT will be applying for ISO 17024 Accreditation. Through this accreditation, FITT’s certified program – the CITP designation – is validated by an independent, unbiased accreditation body – the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) through the Standards Council of Canada. Learn more about ISO 17024 and changes in effect September 1, 2021.
